Great Social Studies Exit Projects
New pedagogical trends encourage students to be
proactive, developing and carrying out projects for in-depth curricular topics
in great detail. Many states require ?exit projects,? to demonstrate mastery
over a curricular subject before completing middle school. This series meets
that demand, offering examples of engaging, investigative projects closely
aligned to state middle school social studies standards. Project examples
explore critical periods of U.S. history, teaching readers how to develop an
independent project to explore key questions related to their favorite unit.
They will learn how to develop a project and prepare displays or presentations
to share their discoveries.
• Each book provides 10 to 15 exit projects in
line with project-based learning, which is an emerging trend in middle school
curricular standards
• Subjects correlate closely to state social studies
curricular topics on U.S. history
• Approach to projects is aligned with the
mandates of the C3 Social Studies Framework
